Press Release for the 2009 Bogart HOPE Scholarship

Created in 2008, The HOPE Scholarship presented by the Bogart Pediatric Cancer Research Program was established to assist patients treated with therapies through our research who are embarking on the next chapters of their lives. Their stories and courage are inspirational and we are honored to help them achieve their dreams by allowing these graduates to continue their post high school education in a college or vocational program.  We are very proud of all of the candidates who submitted their essays and applications and received their cash grants and new fully loaded laptop computers at CHLA’s "Celebrate Life with HOPE" event at Paramount Studios.   By continuing to support our ground-breaking "bench to bedside" research, not only are you helping us win the battle against pediatric cancer and leukemia, you are also helping us prepare our patients for a long and healthy future.

This year, we were so excited to be able to award our ten Bogart Scholars with a laptop and cash award, and the remaining eight applicants with a Merit Award of a laptop! Thank you for all of your help and support in making these kids' dreams come true!
